How to avoid dental problems?

The most important points to avoid dental problems are: proper brushing, a healthy diet and not smoking. We advise you to brush for two till three minutes twice a day, preferably with an electric toothbrush and a fluoride toothpaste. In addition, it is important to clean the space between the teeth once a day with dental floss, toothpicks or interdental brushes.

To keep your teeth healthy you can in fact follow the same guidelines as for your health in general. Sugar is the main reason for cavities and acids in food and drinks will lead to erosion (dissolving of the enamel). As a result, your teeth will wear out and complaints can arise.

Smoking not only causes discolouration of teeth and bad breath, but you can also have less taste of food. Even more it can cause inflammation of the gums and jawbone. It is an important cause for the development of all kinds of diseases, such as cancer, including oral cancer.
